TNTET : Teacher Eligibility Test: Organizations demand TN govt to file review petition in HC

CHENNAI: Three organisations in Tamil Nadu will hold protests in Chennai, Madurai, Salem and Coimbatore on October 8 to demand the state government file a review petition in the high court after the Madurai bench of the Madras high court quashed a government order which relaxed the minimum qualifying marks for the reserved category of teachers appearing in the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test.

The high court's order had led to confusion and denied the reserved category candidates their right guaranteed under the Constitution, said a statement from the Tamil Nadu Untouchability Eradication Front, the Tamil Nadu Tribals' Association and the State Platform for Common School System.

"The government has failed to respond to our representation requesting it to file review petition," the statement said.
