The Odisha Teachers' Eligibility Test (OTET) will be conducted on December 7, announced Board of Secondary Education, Odisha President Dr Dakshya Prasad Nanda on Wednesday.



The test will be held in two shifts. The first shift will be from 10 am to 12.30 pm and the second shift will be from 2 pm to 4.30 pm. Dr Nanda informed that out of total 93,952 candidates, 50,634 will appear for Paper-I in the first shift while 43,318 candidates will appear for Paper-II in the second shift. The test will be conducted at 207 centres across the state.



As per the norms of the National Council for Teachers’ Education (NCTE), qualifying OTET is a essential to be appointed as a teacher in a school. OTET is held twice in a year in Odisha.




The first OTET was held on August 10 this year in which about 90,000 applicants had appeared. The results were announced on September 1.
