When will quality of edu, exams improve, asks HC

PATNA: A single bench of Patna high court presided by Justice A K Tripathi, while hearing a writ petition on the issue pertaining to the result of examination for appointment of Urdu and Bengali teachers on Monday observed that every man has a right to compete with the best in the world.
"Everyone should get a common platform. Due to lack of education, one can't give anything to the next generation. The Muslim population also needs to get quality education," Justice Tripathi observed. The court asked the state counsel, Lalit Kishore, when will the quality of education and examination improve? "When will it be possible that no litigation takes place over ... examinations. Who will give an assurance about it?" the court asked.
"Once I got a chance to attend a function at the Cambridge University, an international law teacher of which has been appointed as a judge of ICJ (International Court of Justice) after completion of his teaching assignment. "Can we appoint a teacher as judge in India," Justice Tripathi wondered.
The court directed the state government to publish the results in question online, so that all can see the results and after that if anyone has any grievance, it (the court) will again look into the matter. The case will be heard again on April 15.
The writ petition has been filed by Abdul Mazid and others, stating that the Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test (BTET) was conducted by Bihar School Examination Board on October 1, 2013, to recruit Urdu and Bengali teachers, but some questions were wrong, due to which grace marks was given to all the candidates. It, however, led to chaos and confusion in the results.
