HTET : Collective immolation threat by eligible teachers in Haryana

Eligible teachers of Haryana today burnt the photocopies of their certificates after taking out a march in the town. Haryana Patra Adhyapak Sangh President Rajendar Sharma served an ultimatum to the government to accept their demand by May one otherwise they would resort to collective self-immolation in Rohtak on the same day at Savindhan Sthal and the government would be held responsible for this mass act of immolation.
These teachers were arrested yesterday under section 107/151, before they could show black flags to the chief minister and later bailed out.

Eligible teachers women wing president Archana Suhasini said, "The government has done a great injustice to us by appointing guest teachers who have not passed the eligibility test but have four years experience of teaching. If the government has to appoint teachers without their passing the eligibility test then why the condition of this test was laid. The judiciary has also not favoured the decision of the government to regularise the guest teachers who have not cleared the test," he added.

The restive teachers urged the government to advertise the vacancies and appoint those who had passed the state teachers' eligibility test. The angry teachers raised slogans against the government and sought justice.
