Students protest continues 13th day
ALLAHABAD: The ongoing students agitation continued for the 13th consecutive day at the gate of office of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission on Friday. The students are protesting under the banner of Samajik Ekta Parishad.
Speaking at the protesting venue, an agitating student Ravindra Singh Chauhan said that chief minister Akhilesh Yadav should take a decision of increasing the maximum age limit from 35 years to 40 years to appear in the competitive examination of PCS, PCS(J) and APO. This would be in the interest of the students' community.
He also said that other states of the country including Bihar, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal and other states have already increased the maximum age limit to about 40 years in these examinations.
Meanwhile, students attached to Samajik Ekta Parishad have also extended support to the TET (Teachers Eligibility Test) passed students. In this connection, president of Samajik Ekta Parishad Om Prakash Shukla has urged that the woes of the TET passed students should be readdressed soon.
Notably, students are demanding an increase in the age limit of candidates appearing in the examination of PCS, PCS(J) and APO. Though the present maximum age limit to appear in this competitive examination is 35 but students want the maximum age limit to 40 years.
