The Human Resource Development Department has released employment notification for teachers at Sikkim. The Sikkim Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted in accordance with the provision of Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE ACT 2009) and the minimum qualification laid down by NCTE for an eligible candidate.
Vacancies: A. Primary Teacher for Classes I-V B. Graduate Teacher for classes VI-VIII
ELIGIBILITY
For Primary Teacher Posts: Candidates must have passed Class 12/Senior Secondary examination with 50 per cent marks and have two-year diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed)
For Graduate Teacher Posts: Candidate must hold BA/B.SC/B.Com Degree or its equivalent with 50 per cent marks and B.Ed from a recognised institute.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
- A written test will be conducted which will be in objective type form.
- The total number of questions is 150 for a duration of 2 hours 30 minutes.
Paper II- for Graduate teachers: The structure of the paper will assess candidates in Child development and pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics and Science, Social Studies.
HOW TO APPLY
A. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online by filling applications in the prescribed format on the official website of HRDD. Applicants are also required to pay Rs 200 in form of Demand Draft payable at IDBI Gangtok and submit the completed applications t on or before mentioned dates.
B. Important dates: Last date for submission of applications is October 18, 2014. Date of written examination November 9, 2014
